Our Life in Heaven

There are many Scriptures that outline what our life in Heaven will be like. Here are just a few to bring you some truth and understanding about your future in God’s house:

We Will have a New Body – Philippians 3:20-21 NIV – But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

We Will be Known – I Corinthians 13:12 NIV  For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

We are like Jesus – I John 3:2 NIV – Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

We have a Place Prepared for Us – John 14:1-3 NIV –  “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God ;  believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”

We Will Never Die Again – John 11:25-26 NIV – Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

We Will Have a New Name – Revelations 2:17 NIV – Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.

We Will Not Grieve – I Thessalonians 4:13-14 NIV – Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

We Will Be With Jesus Forever – I Thessalonians 4:15-18 NIV – According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

There will be No Crying and No More Death – Revelations 7:17 and 21:4 NIV – For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’ ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’ AND  ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Children in heaven are not angels – They are who God made them to be in the womb – a whole complete person as outlined in Psalm 139:13-18 NIV – For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!  Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand — when I awake, I am still with you.

The passage above from Psalm 139:13-18 outlines that children do not come back to be a baby again to someone else. God does not replace aborted or miscarried children. If you become pregnant again the next child is a different person with a new body and personality from the lost child. Just like you are different from everyone else in the world, so is your lost child.
